Dear friends,It is exactly 10 years since the first edition of Map was published in 2002. This seedling was planted at just the right time to sprout and grow strong in the fertile soil of Nanjing - thanks to all of you, who were the sunshine and rain that nourished it! A decade is enough for a seedling to grow into a tall tree, as it is for a grape to ferment and create a vintage wine with a heady aroma that is nurtured and perfected over time. Over the last decade, Map magazine has evolved from a small operation involving a handful of people into a large group employing 50 staff. Its circulation has increased from an initial 10,000 to over 100,000, it has branched out from Nanjing into other cities in Jiangsu, and the original bilingual English-Chinese version has expanded to include Japanese and Korean editions. These 10 years have borne many fruits, but none would have been possible without all of your interest and support - so thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ...

The last time Luo Dayou had a concert in Nanjing was ten years ago. There aren’t many singers who can give a concert after a ten year absence, but for Luo Dayou, this isn’t a problem. At a press conference on November 14th, his sunglasses were nowhere to be seen, as a chicly-dressed Luo Dayou answered all kinds of questions from the press with patience and warmth. For the long National Day holiday, we are going to establish the real meaning of “staying in”. So we have set out seven examples of staying in (a really technical concept…) which we hope will increase the chances of your doing so. We believe that “staying in” can include sunshine, fun and plenty of enticing activities, and we intend to spend the long holiday in exactly this way. We will be staying in, even if you won’t! 《Echoes of the Past: Remembering the Jiangnan Naval Academy》 Nanjing’s history used to revolve around its status as a Yangtze port, a time at which Xinjiekou and Xiaguan District’s fortunes were reversed.
